After Jesus healed the demon-possessed man, he went to the other side of the lake. At that moment, one of the synagogue leaders, Jairus, came to Jesus and asked him to come and heal his daughter. He said, “My daughter is dying.” On the way to Jairus’ house, a woman who had been suffering from bleeding for twelve years followed Jesus through the crowd. She thought that just touching his garment would heal her. For twelve years, doctors had tried to heal her, but they could not. Now, after touching Jesus’ garment, she was completely healed. The healing power was not in Jesus’ clothes, but in him. The power of Jesus, working beyond her faith, healed her. This woman was not only healed physically, but she was also healed spiritually and received eternal life.
