We Christians and followers of Christ are God’s “gardeners”. We are simply instruments in God’s work, planting and watering the seed of the Word. But it is God who does the real work, causing the seed to grow and bear fruit. It is God Himself who causes His Word to be fruitful and adds believers to His church. It is God alone who changes hearts, and it is because of God that people come to faith in Jesus Christ. Our work and efforts are in vain without God’s strength and blessing.
