The book of Acts is a continuation of the Gospel of Luke. The most important purpose of the book of Acts is to show what Jesus Christ realised about the descent of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. The disciples were empowered to spread the good news to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth. The book of the Acts of the Apostles begins with the growth of the Christian faith among the Jews and the possibility of its expansion among the Gentiles, and continues to talk about the growth of the church in the known world at that time.
