Nowruz is the first day of the solar year, corresponding to the first day of Hamal in Afghanistan, and Farvardin in Iran. Nowruz is one of the oldest celebrations coming down to us from ancient times. Originating in ancient Balkh, Nowruz occurs at the beginning of spring, when trees bloom and wild flowers bloom in the fields and meadows, adding to the beauty of nature. Melodious birds sing sweetly and fly into the sky. Nowruz is considered the beginning of the New Year in Afghanistan and Iran. In some other countries also, namely Tajikistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Syria, Kurdistan, Georgia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Albania, China, Turkey, Turkmenistan, India, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan, it is an official holiday and the people there celebrate this festival.
