Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” When Jesus heard Zacchaeus’ repentant words, he said, “Today salvation has come to this house.” Zacchaeus had been lost in sin and unbelief, and now he was saved. That was why Jesus came to earth. That was why He went to the house of a tax collector. Why shouldn’t Zacchaeus be given a chance to repent? Jesus came to save sinners like Zacchaeus. If this same Jesus saves us and lives within us, then we will be eager to share the good news of salvation with other lost sinners.
