God Tests Abraham

God wanted to test Abraham to see if he would completely obey him or not. So, he demanded from Abraham to sacrifice his only beloved son Isaac, the son he had been waiting for many years. It was hard, but Abraham obeyed God. Just before the actual sacrifice, God stopped Abraham from doing so and instead provided a ram (goat) nearby to kill and sacrifice. That way, he blessed Abraham for his obedience. God had promised to make a big nation from Abraham and Isaac’s descendants and that through one of them (the Saviour) all the families of the earth would be blessed.
