Many years had passed and Joseph and all his family members had died. Their descendants had now become slaves in Egypt. They were now called the people of Israel. Pharaoh, the ruler of Egypt, ordered some of their new-born sons to be killed. One of them was saved as a baby and even became a prince in the palace of Pharaoh. That prince’s name was Moses. God had chosen Moses to be a prophet and leader and to bring the people of Israel out of slavery.
