The Gospel of John was written after the other Gospels: Matthew, Mark and Luke. The Gospel of John portrays Jesus as the Son of God who came from heaven. John 1: 1-5 tells us that the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The word became flesh in the form of a human. John the Baptist came to testify about the living Word of God which Jesus Christ. John the Baptist announced that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus Christ the Messiah was in heaven and came down to earth.
