Jesus Is Tempted

Luke 4:1-13 begins by talking about Jesus' temptations. Before Jesus begins his work, Satan tempts him to give up his allegiance to God. When Jesus goes to the desert and fasts for forty days, he is overwhelmed by the devil’s temptations. Our temptations are not like Jesus', but we all have our own temptations, large and small, depending on who we are, our circumstances, and the nature of our work. Temptations usually come without warning. The key to victory over temptation is preparation, and it's only possible by trusting God and acting by his word.
