Death and Burial of Jesus

When Jesus gave His life on the cross, two significant things happened: darkness covered everywhere from noon to three p.m., and the curtain of the temple was torn apart. Jesus the son of God—the one who created sun, moon and stars—was dying. Therefore, the sun could not shine. The curtain in the temple, where the high priest will enter the holy of holies once a year to offer the blood for Israel’s sins, was torn apart. Jesus shed His blood once for all and He is our high priest—we can enter the throne of God through him.
