160 Murders over the Last 11 Months in Herat

There have been 160 murder in Herat since the beginning of this year.
According to statistics, one of the incidents recorded in the Herat Police Headquarters was the killing of 13 women and the rest of the men.
A spokeswoman for the Herat Security Command says that the reasons behind the killings are in 80 percent of cases of "ethnic differences, inherent tensions, assassinations, honour killings and family strains."
The number of homicides recorded in Herat Police Headquarters is not only downtown, but also in the districts and all security areas within the city.
A spokeswoman for the Herat police added that many cases of murder are not being pursued by the police, as families are often reluctant to inform the police.
