Have you heard loving words from your parents in your early life? God the Father calls Jesus Christ his beloved son and says that he is pleased with him. When we become followers of Jesus Christ by faith, this is addressed to us as well. Isn't it really comforting for us that God the Father addresses us as his beloved children?
