In general, men are physically bigger and stronger than their wives. This opens the door for to use violence against women. But Paul warns men against this: "... no one hates his own body, but nourishes and cares for it, .....that is how our wives are- part our own bodies. We read in the gospel: husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. (Ephesians 5: 28)
