Meaning of Submit

The woman says, "This is my destiny, I have to obey my husband, I have to respect him, even though he has no respect for me or considers me important.”
And the man says, "I have to be strong, independent and prove that I can make decisions. I must not show any weaknesses."
At least that is what tradition has expected of men.
The Scripture says: Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
(Ephesians 5: 12)
