From this verse we realize that Christ was not an ordinary person. He was the Word of God and was with God before the creation of the world.
The Word, which is Christ, existed in the beginning. Before the world was formed, Christ existed. Christ was with God before the beginning. God has no beginning; He has always existed. And God has always had his "Word" with him. God has never been without the "Word."
Christ was not only with God but he was God. Christ is not only the Son of God, but also God himself. Christ is God in the form of a man. He is the one and only true incarnation of the living God who came to earth 2000 years ago.
