Ferooza is a girl living among internally displaced people in Heratia's Shidai district with her father, mother and two younger brothers. Turquoise's mother says she has to sell her daughter because of her husband's treatment. To sell or nominate Turquoise, her family has set the rate at 6,000 afghanis.
The sale of girls mostly occurs for three reasons: cultural traditions, lack of awareness and economic problems.
