On the fiftieth day after Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead, the disciples were sitting in the upper room when a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind came from heaven and filled the entire upper room where they were sitting. And there appeared to them cloven tongues like fire, and it sat on each of them. The disciples were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance. What the disciples heard and saw is not so important, but what is important is that they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. From that day on, their lives changed; from that day on, they experienced the power of the risen Christ in their lives.
