What Is the Law, and Why Do We Need Salvation?

The law is like a lamp that shows us the way, and reveals the pitfalls to avoid. It is in the light of the law that we know sin. Just as a father teaches his children the difference between right and wrong, the law makes us aware of the good and evil of our actions. Although without the law, man is more or less able to distinguish between good and evil and has a limited knowledge of God, most of our knowledge of good and evil comes from the teachings of the law. But what is important to understand about the law is that it does not save us. This is why we need a Saviour. Jesus is this Saviour and the promised Messiah.
