What does saviour mean? And why do we need a saviour? The Bible reminds us that we are all guilty of sin and evil deeds. Because of committing sin, we all deserve God's wrath and judgement. The only just punishment for the sin we have committed against the Holy God is eternal punishment. This is why we all need a saviour. who is jesus Many people believe that Jesus Christ was a good person, a great teacher, and a prophet. Certainly, these beliefs are correct in relation to Christ, but alone they cannot tell his true character. The Bible says that Jesus is the embodiment of God; That is, God took a human body and became a human. He alone is the saviour of mankind.
