The Israelites were God's chosen people from ancient times, and they believed in the one Almighty God and worshipped Him. In the Old Testament, many prophets foretold the coming of the promised Messiah and the salvation of the Israelites. The gospel is not ordinary news; the gospel is the power of God for salvation. We call the good news of the gospel the Word of God, the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is not an ordinary book, but the powerful Word of God, which if a person reads the Word of God and believes in it, will find salvation and eternal life.
