The prolonged wars have created many problems for the people. As a result of these wars, Afghans not only lost their loved ones but also children with disabilities. In Herat, now, after years of fighting in the Zendajan area, it has become increasingly clear that 275 mentally handicapped people live in the district. Many people with disabilities in Herat have not been affected by the wars, but as experts say, war has been one of the main and inevitable causes of disability for different generations in Afghanistan.
But why these disabled children are born, doctors say, is largely due to war and war derivatives.
