The sacrifices and religious ceremonies of the Old Testament did not have the power to remove sin and cleanse people's consciences. Without a clean and pure conscience, no one can find a way to God. Only through the blood of Jesus Christ will our guilty conscience be cleansed. And it is because of the redemption of Jesus Christ that the Holy Spirit will live in us. Only the blood of Jesus Christ has the power to take away sin.
