Why Do People Need a New Birth?

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we are born again. We must be in Christ and remain in Him so that the new birth takes root and grows in us. To be in Christ is to believe in Him, to obey Him, and to know Him personally and spiritually. To be in Christ means to accept Him as our King of life, our Lord and Saviour. As a branch is a part of a tree or bush, so we should remain in Christ. If we are in Christ, Christ will also be in us, and he will live in us through the Holy Spirit. We will become a new creation. When we experience the new birth in Christ, we must bid farewell to our old nature that was far from God.
