Jesus and his disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee when a fierce squall arose, waves crashing into the boat. The disciples, terrified, woke Jesus, who was asleep in the stern. They cryid out, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"
He rose, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still." The wind ceased and there was a great calm. He then turned to the disciples and asked, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" They asked one another, "Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
This story is often read as a lesson about faith in the midst of life's storms. When we believe in Jesus as our Lord, he can calm the storms of our lives and help us.
