Jesus’ Authority

Religious leaders asked Jesus about his authority. Jesus responded by asking them a question about John the Baptist’s authority. You might ask why Jesus did not tell them about his authority. The answer is that religious leaders knew the Old Testament and read about the Messiah’s authority. They heard and saw Jesus’ miracles. Jesus raised the dead; he healed a blind and fed thousands of people. In other words, Jesus’ authority was in his actions for changing lives.
