Cleansing the Temple

The Temple in the Old Testament was an important place to worship God. The first Temple was built by King Solomon in 957BC in Jerusalem. The high priest would go to the Holy of Holies in the Temple once a year on the Day of Atonement to burn incense and sprinkle sacrificial animal blood to expiate his own sins and those of the people of Israel. High Priests had to do that every year, but Jesus, our High Priest gave his life on the Cross once for all that anyone believes in him will be forgiven and have eternal life.
