The prophet David asks God to reveal to him any sinful motives he may have towards his enemies. David also asks God to test his sincerity and righteousness. Beyond all this, David's desire is to be in accordance with the will of God, and to be guided in God’s eternal way. We should also ask God to search our hearts and show us the sinful motives that are lurking there. So let's be prepared to learn painful things about ourselves. There is nothing that will not be examined by the living and holy God.
