We know that according to the Jewish law, we will receive retribution and punishment. The law condemns us to death because no matter how hard we try, we will not be able to exactly and perfectly fulfil all the requirements and expectations of the law. The law says: Love your God with all your soul and with all your strength. But who is able to fully obey this law? Nobody. But if we are in Christ, there is no punishment or condemnation for us! To be in Christ Jesus means to believe in him and to consider him as your Lord and Saviour. It means to surrender the control of your life completely to him.
