While Jesus was speaking to his disciples, he was taken up and a cloud hid him from their sight. After his resurrection, Jesus appeared many times to different groups of believers, and then after forty days he ascended to heaven. The disciples saw with their own eyes that Jesus ascended to heaven. Then two men in white, two angels, appeared to the disciples. These angels told the disciples: You do not need to look up to heaven to find Jesus. He went up to heaven to be with his Father. Do not look up to heaven. You have much work ahead of you. At the appointed time, Jesus will return to earth in the same way that he left earth.
