What Does the Bible Say About Women?

The Bible undoubtedly places women on an equal footing with men in relation to God. However, the Bible never says that women are inferior to men, nor does it suggest that women should submit to male domination. Both men and women are made “in the image of God” as equal representatives of their Creator. A Christian wife is a believer in Jesus Christ. This married woman’s priorities in life are clear. She puts godly living at the centre of her attention and makes it a priority in any relationship, including marriage. A godly woman has come to the conclusion that pleasing and obeying God is more important to her than temporary pleasures and joys, and she eagerly seeks to glorify God as a self-sacrificing woman. A Christian woman lives by this principle: “Do not be selfish or show off. Be humble and consider others better than yourselves. “Look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:3-4). Following this principle will end most marital arguments and conflicts. Since we are inherently selfish, we must crucify our pride with Jesus Christ and ask Him to help us be the best we can be for our spouse.
