Most people in our country suffer from a lack of friendship and love in their relationships. They are plagued by mental stress, physical illness, and depression; we know many families who were healed of their wounds when they were given fatherly or brotherly love. They need not only prayer; they also need someone to embrace them warmly. The love of Christ on the cross and his substitutionary love teach us how to see and make up for the shortcomings of others in the midst of wounds. When we show love, God is pleased and acts, and tears of joy and those shortcomings are removed. God meets many of the needs of his children through other children, filling the void of one with another; this is the love of God's family. Wounds make us selfish, and in this way we turn a blind eye to the needs of others and do not see them. Warm, caressing hands are what our world needs today. God wants us to understand his love for people, children, and even animals instead of hatred. When we look at people with God's eyes, we will be able to understand their needs and support them.
