Selfish Desires

James 4:1-10 teaches us that the roots of envy and jealousy are in the desires of our flesh. When we are in difficulties, then the desires or wants of our flesh are more evident than ever because we are in need of something. Sometimes we think that by getting a new car or a new job or a new relationship we might have peace and rest. True peace and rest come when we humbly believe in Jesus and follow his teachings.
