If people come to faith through the witness or evangelism of others, such as parents, preachers, or friends, their faith will only be become strong when they encounter Christ for themselves. We can share good news with others, but they must personally invite Christ into their lives. It is not enough to learn about Christ with our minds. If we are to have true faith, we must encounter Christ spiritually and experientially. This is what happened to the people of that Samaritan town. When they heard Christ, their hearts and souls were opened and they knew for themselves that He was the Messiah, the Saviour of the world.
