Some followers of Christ state the reason for their faith as follows: I believed in Christ because he gave me joy; gave me hope; gave me peace; saved me from depression; I had a certain disease, he healed me... All these answers are very correct and genuine. These are like sparks that ignite faith in our hearts. But if we study the New Testament, we will see that there is a clear reason for calling people to believe in Christ, and that is freedom from "eternal punishment" and seeking refuge in "eternal life".
