The Gospel of Matthew (2:1–12) speaks of Magi, or wise men, who followed a star from the East to Bethlehem in search of a newborn king. There they found Mary and the baby Jesus and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to Earth to save mankind from sin and bring peace and freedom to the world. He is the manifestation of God on Earth, and His appearance marks a turning point in human history. When Jesus Christ was born, the world was engulfed in sin, war, and conflict. He came to uproot the sources of sin, war, and bloodshed, and to reconcile humanity with God. He replaced oppression and warfare with brotherhood and equality, offering a message of peace, love, and forgiveness to the world.
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.I do not give to you as the world gives Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
