The Vine and the Branches

In the Gospel of John chapter 15 verses 27-2 we read that Jesus Christ tells his disciples:
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."
Jesus showed that this parable is not limited to him and his father, and said, "Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am that vine and you are its branches." We can only bear spiritual fruits if I follow Jesus' example and remain in union with him.
