The descent of the Holy Spirit from heaven is the beginning of a new age that took place on the day of Pentecost, fifty days after Christ's ascension.
With his coming on that day, he announced the beginning of Christ's church in the new age.
The Holy Spirit is our counselor and guide and helps us in our relationship with God and with others in Christ's church. Also, the Holy Spirit empowers the believers of Christ to serve God and bring the gospel to the people.
