Marriage and forming a family is something that God has established. Marriage is a covenant witnessed by God. Therefore, when a man betrays his wife or a woman betrays her husband, they also betray God. Those who divorce their spouses without a scriptural reason not only cause sin to their spouse but also sin against God. Marriage is a covenant. Just as God is faithful to keep His covenant with His people despite their faults and rebellion, so He expects us to keep our covenant with our spouses. A covenant includes loyalty and commitment, God hates divorce. So, out of respect for God, let's avoid divorce and separation.
