In Afghanistan, Nowruz has always had its own special place. From Kabul to Mazar-e-Sharif, from Herat to Badakhshan, people try to celebrate this day with all their might and whatever their circumstances. Because Nowruz is a reminder of life; a reminder that after every winter, spring finally comes. People may not have new clothes, their table may be simple, but hope cannot escape from their hearts. One of the most important parts of Nowruz celebrations in Afghanistan is the red rose bar in Mazar-e-Sharif. This bar is not just a pastime; it is a symbol. The red rose shows that the earth, despite all the hardships it has seen, still grows beauty. People come from far away to look at the flowers, to forget their sorrows for a few hours, and to make a new path for their hearts.
