Jesus, the Comforter of the Mourning

  29 minutes

  23 October 2026

Blessed are those who mourn. The teaching of Jesus stands in contrast to the teaching of the world. The world says: "Do not mourn; flee from sorrow and grief, and seek happiness." Jesus Christ, however, means that we must mourn for our sins. He speaks of spiritual mourning, not worldly grief. Before we can receive the joy of salvation, we must first mourn for our sins. Those who mourn shall be comforted. When we repent of our sins, Christ comforts us. When we look at ourselves, we mourn; when we look to Christ, we find hope, peace, and joy. Without sorrow, there can be no joy; and without true repentance, salvation cannot come to pass. Wherever the Lord Jesus Christ walked, His message brought comfort and peace—both for that time and for you and me today. He is able to wipe away the tears of those who mourn and remove the garment of grief and sorrow from our faces and our hearts. In place of the garments of mourning, He clothes us in the garments of comfort and peace. Do not fear; have faith. Like the daughter of Jairus, live again—forever.

Radio Voice of Life. O Lord, see my loved ones. Greetings to dear listeners. Welcome to the programme, "O Lord, see my loved ones." Hello to you wherever you are. May the health and peace of God be with you. We are grateful to be with you again with a new programme, and we also have Shakra Jan with us in the studio. Yes, dear listeners, I send my greetings to you as well. I hope you are well and in good spirits. We hope you will stay with us until the end of the programme and accompany us.

Truly, Shakra Jan, we thank God for the programme where we talked about mourning and joy. From the Psalms, we learned how to find happiness and how to find hope. Shakra Jan, every part shows us that Jesus is the comforter of those who mourn. Yes, as it says in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter five, verse four, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." This message of Jesus is a message of comfort to all of you, dear listeners, who are listening at this moment.

But listen carefully; today we have a different programme filled with joys and hopes. Yes, dear, how beautiful it is when we see that part that says, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Dear listeners, those who are in sorrow and mourning, God grants them many joys. For those who are in Christ, there is no more despair. Yes, our Lord Jesus Christ, wherever He steps, from one village to another, His message brings comfort and peace to the people.

He wipes away the tears of the mourners, and their sad faces become joyful. Yes, it means that even the garments of sorrow are taken from within their hearts, and instead, they are clothed with happiness and peace. We see people following Jesus in groups.

Dear compatriots and beloved listeners, this message is for you at this moment when you are in pain and hardship, in mourning. Wherever you are in Afghanistan, in every village, in every city, or outside of Afghanistan, in any country, this message is for all of us. If you believe in the God of comfort, dear listener, today the voice of Jesus Christ, through His word, reaches the ears of our people, village by village, province by province in our country. Amen.

And Shakra Jan, this is the heartfelt wish of all the staff at Radio Voice of Life who are listening. Yes, just as people hear, it shows how much people can have the heart of God with Jesus Christ. We can read in our Gospels that Jesus raised the dead in three significant places. Yes, dear listener, do not forget that Jesus Christ, the God of comfort, is for all humanity. Stay with us as we have a beautiful worship session in the hardships of the world. I will call upon Your name with my heart, mind, and soul; I will call upon Your name with every breath.

Jesus, You are the peace of my soul. You are the King whom I love first while I have breath in my body. I love You, I will praise Your name. Whether weary or troubled, I will call upon Your name in the hardships of the world. I will call upon Your name with strength; I will call upon Your name with the Spirit; indeed, I will call upon Your name.

Jesus, You are the peace of my soul. You are the King whom I love first while I have breath in my body. I love You, I will praise Your name. Jesus, You are the peace of my soul. You are the King whom I love first while I have breath in my body. I love You.

The girl is not dead; she is only sleeping. All those around laughed at Jesus because they knew that the girl had died. But Jesus took the girl by the hand and called her, saying, "My child, arise." Her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. Jesus commanded them to give her something to eat. The parents of the girl were astonished. But Jesus insisted that they should tell no one what had happened. Amen.

Dear listeners, this is an interesting story. Absolutely. When people hear about things that are unbelievable, we see that what Jesus Christ did at that time is all recorded in the Holy Scriptures. Absolutely. Why is it recorded? Do we understand? Just as we followers of Jesus Christ have faith in Him, we have asked for eternal life from God through Jesus Christ, which He has granted us. Absolutely.

We see that the first comfort began in the house of Jairus. Yes. In the Gospel of Luke, we read and heard. Although Jairus was a ruler of the synagogue in his region and a wise teacher who understood the law, he could not heal his daughter. Yes. We see that when Jesus was in the crowd, he learned that Jesus had come, and he rushed to seek healing for his daughter. Yes.

So, dear listener, when our children or our offspring fall ill, how much do parents strive for their children to recover? Yes, to get better. Yes, Jairus also ran to bring Jesus to his house. Yes.

Dear listener, when our children or our little ones are ill, where do we go? Where do we seek help? Yes. This is a good question, Shakra Jan. But someone in the crowd tells Jairus, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the teacher anymore." It means that people do not have comfort. Yes, because they know death as the end. Yes.

And in our world, even in Afghanistan, when someone is ill, people usually go to their relatives. When you hear that they have passed away, you become resigned. You cannot say anything. Yes. There is no one who can bring them back to life. Jesus Christ teaches us this lesson and gives us testimony that we have been freed from our fears. Yes.

How can we encourage one another to have faith? Yes. How can we give others hope that eternal life is in the hands of Jesus Christ? Yes. Our encouragement should be that we know who our path is, and who holds our eternal life. Yes.

The only way is Jesus Christ. Today, we introduce you, whether it's your first time listening to our programme or if you’ve listened for years, dear listener. How difficult it is when you are seeking healing, and someone comes to tell you that someone who was ill has passed away. It is a very hard time.

But dear listener, today we draw from this message of the Gospel about Jesus Christ, the Lord, for all of you who are grieving, for those who have lost loved ones or family members, who are in fear and lacking strong faith; today, the hope of salvation is not too late for you, and receive this salvation.

Yes, we see that this man is trying hard, even as others come to tell him that his daughter is dead, and they say, “No need to trouble the teacher anymore.” But still, he continues to make efforts, and his daughter is healed by Jesus Christ. Truly, when a person strives so much to save their daughter from death, how much more does our Lord Jesus Christ strive for us and wait for us not to go into eternal death.

So, dear listener, we were all like Jairus' daughter; we were all dead, but now that we are alive, it means we have found eternal life in Jesus, and the second death has no power over us. And from this moment, we have received eternal life. Whoever believes in Jesus Christ receives this life, and we see, dear listener, that faith and love drive away fear from us.

If you are grieving, invite Jesus Christ into your heart today so that life and living may dwell in your heart, and He may take away all your mourning and grief. Everything that we place under the light of Jesus Christ changes many things in our lives.

How interesting it is when we see Jesus Christ amidst the crowd, a woman who had been suffering from bleeding for twelve years touches Him and is healed. Indeed, in the presence of Jesus Christ, we want to remind you, dear listeners, that His presence brings you healing. We want this programme of the Lord today to bring healing to you.

No, it is on our side in the name of Jesus Christ with faith that we are freed. In the first step, we see that Jesus takes all those who are in mourning and grief out of the house of Jairus, only bringing in three of His disciples, and the parents of the twelve-year-old girl.

When we tell you, dear listeners, that you are in confusion, that you are losing your way, your pains and hardships are overwhelming, please remember in every programme where you are given a chance to write down your requests and prayers. Contact us so we can pray for you; healing and peace will flow abundantly.

In the second part, we see that when Jesus enters that room, the crying ceases. Why? Because the comfort of Jesus is real comfort, not the kind that says it will not be fulfilled.

Yes, people need someone who can wipe away their tears. Yes, today you need Jesus Christ, in whatever language or belief you have, to cleanse your tears and bring peace and comfort to your hearts and minds.

Yes, we see that Jesus Christ speaks of hope for the future, even after death, saying, “She is not dead but sleeping.” For Jesus, death is like sleep. Yes, yes.

Dear friends, when we lose a loved one, grief may come upon us. If they are believers in Christ, their pain does not weigh on us as heavily. Yes, if they truly had no faith.

The pain and sorrow of death are much greater for those who leave this world without salvation. Yes, if you want your death to be like sleep and your spirit to come before God, today is not too late. Or today in mourning, Jesus gives hope.

The words from Jesus show the future of life that we may have eternal life in heaven with Him, so He says today, “Do not be afraid, have faith, and see what truly happens and what miracles are performed before your eyes.”

Those who are weeping and mourning have true comfort in verses 50 and onward. They are the ones who, when someone dies, embrace them. Even though two months or three months have passed, or even if it has been a while, they still bring the pain and wounds fresh again.

Yes, our Lord Jesus sees us; only He can bring us peace from within, heal our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, and our lives. A family among our listeners lost a beloved son, a young man.

When I always called them or sent messages, the daughter would say, “My mother cries a lot, mourns a lot.” But they were believers in Jesus Christ, only listening to our programmes. When I contacted this family again, I spoke with the father and mother, prayed for them, and comforted them. The mother told me, “Thank you; it is just your voice that has given me comfort.”

When you give comfort, it is all from the Lord. I had poured everything out, but in this moment of mourning, I received comfort from no one. There are those who come and refresh our pain, our wounds; if we forget a little, they remind us, and we weep again. Yes, there are many things to say, but how good it is when we visit a home just to comfort. Whatever we say, we first ask the Lord to give peace and patience to that family.

Absolutely. So dear listeners, the message of Jesus Christ, the coming of Jesus Christ into your heart and life, into your spirit and soul, is what you need today. Have faith today, just as Jesus showed life in the house of Jairus, that life is in His hands.

Who can raise the dead? Except for Jesus Christ. And before the eyes of the father and mother, He said, “Little girl, arise,” and she immediately rose who had been dead. Indeed, life is in the hands of Jesus Christ.

Today, if we are alive, in this life, we are on the right path, which is only in Him. We must grasp it and realise the truth that Jesus Christ holds all life, all creation, in His powerful hands. We do not rely on man; we rely on God alone, who can raise the dead.

Look, Shakra Jan, when Jesus ascended to heaven, His disciples received that same power from Him, and with that power, they even raised the dead. Just as that woman was healed by merely touching the hem of Jesus' garment. How much do you need healing today?

How much have you given up your hope today? So in this message, all hope, all healing, all comfort, and everything is found. Yes, indeed. So Jesus Christ is the God of comfort for the mourners. Yes.

For those who receive eternal healing. Yes, indeed. One more thing, dear listeners, that should not be left unsaid: when we request healing and peace from the Lord, we must do so in His name, with faith.

Yes. If we lack faith, no matter how much we ask, it will be of no use. So, Shakra Jan, many of our people say, “I know Jesus Christ, but I do not consider Him a prophet.” Because this misconception has remained in the minds of the people, the world has not lifted the veil on the truth.

But they know Him as a prophet. While He came from heaven, all power and creation are in His hands. In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 28, verse 18, it says, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. I am the resurrection and the life. I am the good shepherd. I am the way, the truth, and the life."

Dear listeners, if until now you have accepted Jesus Christ as a prophet, when you see His miracles, when you read, you realise that He is the Lord Himself, not just a prophet, not just a messenger; He Himself is God.

What human can dare to say, "Believe in me"? And Jesus says, "Believe in me." See and taste that all power is in My hands. Again, we pray to this God of healing and comfort that your hearts may be touched.

May your hearts be freed from darkness, and the beloved people of my land, Afghanistan, and our people may all find light in the Gospel. For in the Gospel is power. In the Gospel is life. In the Gospel is living. But it is for those who believe. It is not just that I believe. It is not just that I have faith. But I must act.

Come and see how many amazing and miraculous things you will witness in the Holy Scriptures. Jesus Christ loves you, and we ask God that your mourning, your sorrows, and your hardships may cease in the name of Jesus Christ.

But also remember that following God's way and walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ is not an easy task. The path of Jesus Christ is one of trials and pain. Anyone who passes through this hardship and pain will reach the truth of God. They will come to God.

So we rejoice. In our weaknesses, we grow strong and become closer to the eternal God and the living Lord. Amen. Amen.

Dear listeners, taste and see that the Lord is good, the God of comfort. We will see you again in future programmes under the powerful hands of the Lord Jesus Christ, the one who comforts hearts, the one who heals, the one who even raises the dead.

The grace and peace of Jesus Christ be with you. Goodbye.

Jesus Christ, I thank You for giving me freedom from my sorrowful heart, for giving me a song of joy. Greetings in the name of the Saviour of mankind, Jesus Christ, who became the sacrifice for each of our sins. We thank the Lord that He has granted us salvation through His grace.

Now, I would like to introduce and present the first volume of spiritual songs to you. The songs in Dari, "Ashq-e-Masih," are among the songs you have continuously heard through our Dari and Hazaragi programmes. The Holy Word says, "Praise the Lord," how good it is to worship our God with songs, how delightful it is to glorify Him. Praise the Lord for the new songs, sing to Him, and glorify Him in the gathering of believers.

We invite you to listen to the first volume of the songs of "Ashq-e-Masih." When I was drowning in sins, He came and gave me life. My life became His grace and love, and He redeemed me. This is the reason why I sing, “He gave me salvation. O Christ, I thank You for giving me freedom from my sorrowful heart, for giving me a song of joy. O Christ, I thank You.”
