One who enters into a covenant with another; considers himself the owner of two lives; his friend's life; Someone who has shared blood with him and is ready to give up his life and his own life for him. Jesus told his disciples that the greatest love they can show to each other is to lay down their lives for each other. This is how Jesus loved them and proved it by giving his life on the cross for them. There is no greater love than this. Jesus also commands us to love one another as he has loved us.
