What Is Fasting That Pleases God?

The Bible does not command Christians to fast. But it does present fasting as good, beneficial, and beneficial. There were those who fasted for the sake of being admired and honoured by people. They would put ashes on their faces so that others would know that they were fasting. Their goal was to gain respect for themselves, not to gain God’s approval. Their reward was only the honour of men, not God’s. Jesus approved of fasting when it was done for the right reasons. Christians fast to humble themselves before God, to bring their bodies under control, and to receive greater guidance and power from the Holy Spirit. The prophet Isaiah said that the fast that pleases God is humility and loving-kindness.
