Fasting in Christianity: An Invitation to a Living Relationship With God
In Christianity, the concept of fasting is based more on a heartfelt relationship with God than on fulfilling a binding religious command. In the Christian faith, man establishes a relationship with God not through religious duties, but through his love and grace. For this reason, Christians are not bound to a specific time or month for fasting, and there is no such thing as a "month of fasting." Rather, every believer can fast at any time, under God's guidance, either individually or collectively, for a few hours, a day, or several days.
