The triumphal entry of Jesus Christ is a very different story, but it has meaning and application for the followers of Christ. It is the story of a king who entered the city humbly, dressed as a poor man, riding a donkey, and not wearing the garb of a king or a horse. Jesus Christ did not conquer by force and war like earthly kings, but His victory was through love, compassion, kindness, and the sacrifice of His own life for mankind. He is not the King of armies, but the King of humility and service. He does not conquer nations, but He conquers hearts and minds. His message is eternal peace with God, not temporary earthly peace. We believers display these same characteristics so that the people of the world will see the true King of our hearts.
