In our society many people rely on magic, amulets, going to shrines and making pilgrimages when they are in trouble and need help. They are convinced that fate (kismet) is their destiny. But the fact is, that these kinds of magic rituals and superstitions distance us from the living God. People who believe in such superstitions show their weak faith and lack of trust in God.
Belief in magic, amulets, the evil eye, curses, going to shrines, pilgrimage will make us experience the limited power of evil spirits and the devil. We will not experience the unlimited power of God who is omnipotent and can help us in every situation. He is the only one who can help us in times of trouble. We Christians rely only on our Savior Jesus Christ in times of trouble.
Because Jesus Christ has always loved us, He is our only compassionate helper.
