Jesus Christ ascended to heaven forty days after his resurrection. Some of this time he was with his disciples. No doubt the disciples were very troubled and saddened by the departure of Christ.
The Word of God indicates that after his ascension, Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God. He then sent the Holy Spirit, and the disciples were empowered by the Holy Spirit of Christ, to be his witnesses in the world. Jesus is not only at the right hand of God the Father after his ascension, but also he is our intercessor.
