You should associate with people who can help you grow spiritually. Most people have a misunderstanding about baptism. The word (baptism) means - complete immersion in water. Baptism is a biblical way of publicly declaring that you believe in and follow Jesus Christ. Baptism does not save you, and it does not wash away your sins in any way. Baptism shows that you obey God and publicly declare your faith in Jesus Christ as your Saviour.
