This invitation is an invitation to accept a new life that God freely grants to humanity. This invitation is neither from the Church nor from people; it is the invitation of Jesus Christ Himself, He said: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened…” “Take My yoke upon you… for My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” This invitation is for everyone: for the poor and the rich, the sick and the healthy, the sinner and the broken, for the weary in heart, and for every time, even today.
The cross is a symbol of God’s justice and love; man’s sin deserved punishment, but God’s infinite love caused Christ to take the burden of our sin upon himself. This sacrifice not only brought us salvation, but also calls us to live lives of love, service, and sacrifice, demonstrating God’s love in action.
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.I do not give to you as the world gives Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
