God Is the Witness of the Covenant

We have a responsibility to make a covenant with our God and others to remain steadfast and faithfully support and defend one another. Jonathan made a friendship pact with David, but how much with King Saul? It describes and supports and defends Dawood. Even though Jonathan knows that his father is David's enemy, he honours the friendship pact he made with David in the presence of God. Yonatan does not want that covenant to be broken because he is a witness to God's covenant of friendship and wants its sanctity to continue to their next generations.
