Baptism - Part One (What Is Baptism?)

Baptism means bathing or being immersed in water. In the Christian faith baptism is a divine command. We are baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ Himself was baptized by the hands of John the Baptist. As followers of Christ, we do the same.
Although baptism is an outward act but by doing so we are announcing that we share in the death and resurrection of Christ. Baptism does not erase all of our sins. The basis of purity is our faith in and obedience to Jesus Christ. Baptism is a testament to our faith in Jesus Christ.
